Earth science (also known as geoscience) is an all-embracing term for the sciences related to the planet Earth. It is arguably a special case in planetary science, the Earth being the only known life-bearing planet. There are both reductionist and holistic approaches to Earth sciences. The formal discipline of Earth sciences may include the study of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, oceans and biosphere, as well as the solid earth. Typically Earth scientists will use tools from physics, chemistry, biology, chronology and mathematics to build a quantitative understanding of how the Earth system works, and how it evolved to its current state.

And that is according to wikipedia.Earth science

anyway here is how I see it.

Earth is the only habitable planet(as of now because obviously we havent reached other galaxies and stuff.)Earth is where we live, and eat,and do stuff.Basically Earth is our home. So Earth science,in a nutshell is studying our home.Making the connection between a simple worm to  a wall street executive.

That is a very simple way to see it right?

none of the complex and scientific terms(yet)

but we have a ton of stuff to learn.
